The reading, writing and listening practice tests in have been designed to resemble the format of the IELTS test as closely as possible. In Task 2 of the General Training Writing test, you are asked to write an essay in response to a point of view, an argument, or a problem. In IELTS writing task 1, you are asked to write a summary of 150 words in response to the graph, table, chart given, or letter in response to the situation given. They are designed to practise exam technique to help students to face the IELTS test with confidence and to perform to the best of their ability.

Introduction: Be sure to state the question in your own words in your introduction so that you introduce the topic of your task 2. For IELTS writing task 1, you need to write a summary of at least 150 words in response to a particular graph (bar, line or pie graph), table, chart, or process (how something works, how to do something) the wanted. Both writing tasks in the IELTS exam are marked out of 9 and are assessed according to four categories: Task Achievement, Coherence and Cohesion, Lexical Resource, and Grammatical Range and Accuracy. Topics are of general interest such as whether it is better to homeschool children, whether the drinking age should be raised, who is responsible for the care of the elderly or how families could be brought closer together.

Task 1 is of 20 minutes, in which you have to write at least 150 words whereas the rest 40 minutes are for task 2 where your write up must have at least 250 words

In Task 1, you are required to describe a graph, process or image in minimum 150 words and in task 2, you have to write an essay in minimum 250 words on the provided topic. He/she may be asked to describe and explain data, describe the stages of a process, how something works or describe an object or event.
